Dear Luke Frankenburger,

Do not let the trends of society sweep you up in their tidal wave of misery, for when you say and do as the crowd does and says, you lose yourself in the midst of conformity. How can you truly be yourself when all you do is follow? Instead, take the road less traveled by. Be yourself, not who others want you to be. True friends stick by you for yourself. Others stick by you for being “cool”; being up-to-date on the latest trends and making fun of those who aren’t “cool” according to society. However, these are the people who end up with the best lives. Take the stereotypical high school jock, for example. This young man plays football and wrestling, maybe baseball. They spend hours working out. They barely miss failing most of their classes, yet they are looked up to by the majority of the student body. They will probably grow up to be generally poor and unhappy, unless they end up making it in sports. Now take the geeks and freaks, so to speak. The music geek plays dozens of instruments and is an expert songwriter, yet are made fun of for not being “cool” enough. This person will probably grow up to be in an awesome band. The drama/choir freak is an awesome actor and singer, and also have great social skills. However, they are looked down upon, again, for not being “cool” enough. They will probably grow up to be in movies and/or plays, probably on Broadway. Now, the English nerd. This person is an awesome writer, and has probably written a couple stories and filled up a couple of journals. This person is very in touch with themselves emotionally. However, they are looked down upon yet again for not being “cool” enough. Now, the math geek, perhaps the most looked down upon person in the modern social scene. This person is awesome at math, and is probably good at science too. This person is looked down upon for being your stereotypical nerd. However, they will probably grow up to have large salaries by working for large businesses, universities, or banks. Remember, popularity is not all it seems. Which one would you rather be?

The difference between right and wrong
Should be very easy
But when those wrong think they are right
It makes me feel quite queasy

For if wrong were right then right is wrong
Then wrong is right again
It gets quite confusing
But even then

As long as you know what is right
And what is very wrong
It doesn’t matter what they think
They’re not right all along

Light makes Darkness run in fear

I wish that I could talk to you
I wish that we were friends

All I can do is sigh

I wish that I could carry some
Simple plain chitchat
However there is nothing harder
For me to do than that

I wish that I could just become
More socially inclined
I guess I have to discover
Some more friends left to find
